I got this idea from the current issue of Group Magazine. Since most of my youth group kids are on AIM and use cell phones as a primary means of communication, it seems to make sense to utilize these tools for communicating youth group news and announcements. Students can easily check away messages and profile info on AIM for youth group updates and AIM allows sending text messages to cell phones straight from the buddy list.
