Last week we had a good discussion on the LISM Facebook Page about whether or not “traditional youth ministry largely removes parents from the picture by separating teens into a separate group and then complains that parents aren’t involved in their kid’s lives spiritually.” (See that discussion here.)
Last night I posted another statement on the LISM Facebook Page for discussion:
“AGREE OR DISAGREE: Every teen belongs in the church body, not in the youth group. A primary function of the youth ministry should be to integrate teens into the church body rather than function as a holding tank where teens feel comfortable until they graduate.”
I love reading all the feedback and different perspectives! It really helps me learn from you guys and shapes my own thinking on some of these issues.
