I’d like you to meet Grahame Knox, a brand new youth ministry blogger from the UK. Although he just entered the blogoshere this month, he’s been in youth ministry for 27 years. That’s as long as I’ve been alive! Grahame’s 11 blog posts so far show that he is full of wisdom and insight when it comes to youth ministry and leadership. I, for one, look forward to what he has to contribute to the online youth ministry conversation.
One of his first contributions is a free ebook titled, “Bible Study Methods for Youth Leaders.” Although the title may suggest hermeneutics, it’s actually more about ideas for leading Bible studies. It quickly covers some basic bible study methodology, but most of it is about how to ask good questions, facilitate discussions and apply scripture.
Side note: I’m all about Bible study discussions when it’s facilitated by someone who is knowledgeable and taking it somewhere on purpose. I’m not all about Bible study discussions when it’s just a group of people pooling their ignorance. The latter can be very dangerous. Use these ideas accordingly.
CONTRIBUTE TO FREEBIE FRIDAY: If you’ve benefited from others who have freely shared their youth ministry resources online, consider giving back to the community by sharing your own materials here. Send me your donations for review and if I publish them in a Freebie Friday, you’ll receive full credit, a link, lots of gratitude and a warm feeling inside that comes from sharing with others.
