As I mentioned in an earlier post, my church is going through a lot of transitions the summer. Several staff members are leaving for different reasons (church plant, retirement, new jobs, etc.), which is thankfully forcing the rest of us to prioritize our time, energy, and resources. It’s also causing us to focus our vision for when we launch ministry for the fall.
One of the major changes that will be coming in the fall are church-wide sermon-based small groups for everyone from teens through adults. There’s many significant advantages of this, which is a post for another day, but to provide an example for some small group leaders in a meeting last night, I drafted a mock version of what such curriculum could look like. It’s based on my pastor’s message from last Sunday titled, “Finding It,” a series through the book of Ecclesiastes.
If you go through the book of Ecclesiastes with your students (and you should!) with your students, this talksheet contains some questions and ideas that might be helpful as you prepare your lessons.
