Dennis Poulette joined us last Monday to talk about working with cross-cultural students and minorities at youth group. Dennis is a youth ministry professor at a seminary in Mexico, so being a minority himself down there, he’s quite familiar with how it feels and what it’s like to be that in youth ministry.
Dennis and many others in last week’s conversation added a lot of good insights and tips for working with teens who might be a little different from us.
Some of the things we talked about:
- Working with different value systems
- Helping different ethnicities feel welcomed
- Moving past potential language barriers
- Common mistakes to avoid
- And a lot more…
