Our Weekly Freebie Friday: #298
Back in 1999 I wrote this talk based on James 3. The passage is so visual when talking about the tongue and the words we speak in regards to a ship’s rudder, a small spark, and a horse bit, that it pretty much demands the use of a visual presentation and tangible objects.
Below are my Word Document notes and PowerPoint presentation, but I also had with me in person the rudder from my windsurfing rig and a box of matches to add to the visual nature of this passage. (I couldn’t get a horse bit from anyone.)
I wrote it with some personal examples, which I’ve removed for the sake of sharing this publicly, but it shouldn’t be too hard to add in stories of your own. I’m sure we all have examples to share when it comes to how other people’s words have affected us, both positively and negatively.
I hope it blesses you and those in your ministry!
